Jews, Christians and Muslims

Jews, Christians and Muslims By Sumaira Feroz [1]   There was a time when everyone in the world was savage. Almost every human in society regularly killed each other without any fear. If an influential person noticed any unproductive and weak person, he heartlessly beheaded them. It was a dilemma of ancient times that children, women, and other vulnerable individuals were considered the best property. And it seems that life had no meanings and purposes except killing others. There was no rule of law and concept of humanity, only was barbarism. The people had the vague idea of God and the powerful ones imagined themselves as a god and others were used to worship idols, and some did not believe in any such superior power that is called God.   People were spending their life in the deep darkness. Then, at last, the almighty ‘Yahweh, God or Allah showered his mercy upon them and sent His chosen people to show them the right path, the path of humanity and peace. So, around 4,000 y

STILLNESS BY SUMAIRA FEROZ

Stillness By Sumaira Feroz All of humanity’s problems stem from man’s inability to sit quietly in a room alone. -Blaise Pascal When I look outside of the window I see countless darting eyes and swivelling heads that are walking, and running on the road and in the streets. I see doleful faces of men and women who are preoccupied with their thoughts. They seem so tired, gloomy and anxious. It seems that they have been trapped with endless problems which have made them so consumed that they have forgotten to think about taking a break from the chaotic series of life, the break from the never-ending work and high responsibilities.     In our restless life, we always ignore the inner voices that tell us we are missing something, we are rushing too fast. The voices pat our shoulders,   it is time to stop for a while somewhere, but we ignore and take it as a useless idea and prefer to keep running with loads of burdens and constant noises. However, when our mental process star

Challenges of Educational Leadership in Pakistan

Image
By Sumaira Feroz Educational leadership refers to the social and psychological settings where groups of people are led in terms of ideologies and philosophical concepts.   Educational leadership is much of influential leadership than managerial because academic departments are communities that have exclusive practices and beliefs. It is also different from political leadership as Pakistani academic leaders are answerable to the government, board of governors or Higher Education Commission (HEC), not to the general public. The academic leadership also represents the functions and responsibilities of top managers, deans, chancellors, principals, school heads and others who are responsible for decision-making at different levels. However, the department chair as the leader of this community plays a very critical leadership role in transmitting the academic values and effects the achievements of the objectives and well-being of the employees and the organization that can bring a significa

Thief in the Dark

I constantly desired to know the unknown things. When my father brought toys for me, I took them to a place where nobody can see me and interrupt me to ask what I am doing with them. I usually broke them into pieces to know how they have been formed. My parents always hid their writing pads and newspapers from me it is because i tore them off just to listen the ripping, tearing sounds that made me curious to know how these sounds are being produced. I usually dropped off my pencils and used to cracked them to separate the wood and pencil lead. I got amused to see the plane and birds soaring higher in the sky. I also used to waited enthusiastically for Eid days because that was the day, which was celebrated in a special manner like we often purchased new dresses, shoes and lots of other accessories to show friends and to other children and more importantly mother cooked delicious, mouthwatering food for us. I also waited for the foggy and frosty December that brought snowflakes and

The Magical Window

Image
There is a window in my room which is not too big and not too small. I often sit in front of my room’s window because it helps me think broadly and differently. It is a window that shows me different and unusual things opposite my small and well-constructed home.   I see well-organized things, a neat floor, the painted walls and a strong roof over my head. I open the fridge, take whatever I want to eat and drink. I press taps, then water whirled out; I press the button then the fan starts to move swiftly to provide me air without any difficulty. It looks everything is in my control, and I am the master of everything here.  But when I slide up window’s glass frames, I always get mesmerized to see a never-ending broad and blue roof where I see small delicate creatures. These creatures are spread everywhere and every inch of that blue roof. The roof, which is different from my room’s ceiling, is a roof of these small but mighty creatures.  Whenever I open this magical window, th
